This concert was problematic. The initial part was comprised of early baroque French music for viol played beautifully by Hile Perl with Lee Santana at the theorbo. Perl playing was not on the most common French viola da gamba tradition (like Savall or Pandolfo) but more in Enlish clean style, with no so misty articulations and dynamics. It was a very interesting approach.

However at the middle of the recital Lee Santana took the electric guitar to switch to contemporary repertoire. And sometimes this modern music for ancient instruments is a real trap, because it sounds old. Martha Bishop and Egberto Gismonti composition has a rancid smell of mid 70s new age music, even with spoker words. To add more disappointing ingredients to the cocktail Santana had a lot problems to set up the loop machine and they both got lost during the performance.
